1099 & W-2 Recipient Deadline is Coming Up!

Heads up ExpressTaxFilings-turned-ExpressIRSForms-users: time is running out to get your recipients their copies of the 1099 and W-2 forms they need to file their tax returns!

As you probably already know, the recipient deadline for Forms 1099 and W-2 is January 31 the year following the year you’re claiming. Well, this year, January 31 falls on a Sunday, so the deadline is extended to Monday, February 1.

Remember: this is the deadline by which your payees must receive their forms. It’s not the last day they can be postmarked (unless you can ensure that it’s both postmarked and received that day).

If you want to make sure your payees receive their forms by Monday, February 1, but don’t want to send them out yourself, you can use our Postal Mailing service! Just make sure you e-file with us and select the Postal Package before you transmit by 8:00 p.m. EST, January 29.
