The Form 7004 Deadline Has Been Extended!

Well, folks, Winter Storm Stella’s done it.

She’s gone and made the IRS extend the deadline for Form 7004 that we talked about earlier this week!

So if you missed the deadline yesterday to e-file Form 7004 to extend your business’s tax return deadline, you now have until Monday, March 20, 2017, to do so. Remember, Form 7004 does not extend the amount of time you have to pay any business taxes owed to the IRS, however, it can earn you 5½ to 7 more months to complete all the paperwork.

This extension does apply whether your paper filing or e-filing Form 7004, however the fastest way to get your extension approved at this point would definitely be e-filing. While the postal service does say “Neither snow nor rain…”, there’s no need to test just how fast they can get that done – especially in less-than-stellar driving conditions.

Instead, go with what’s fast and doesn’t have to travel over snowy, icy roads to get to the IRS: our sister product, ExpressExtension! With us, you’re e-filing, so your forms are transmitted through the power of a secure internet connection. And then, before you know it, you’ll have around six extra months to file your business’s tax return!

Thankfully, our offices haven’t been affected by Winter Storm Stella, so we’re here to help if you have any questions getting in that last-minute extension Form 7004! Just give our ExpressExtension line a call at (803) 514-5155, send us a live chat, or an email at support@ExpressExtension.com.
