Time For A Tax Break

You ever just need a break from all the tax forms,
debits, credits, numbers, IRS, etc.? That’s exactly where I am at the moment. Right now is the perfect time to take a break (for however amount of time) from the pre-tax season madness and regroup and refocus. If you work in the wonderful world of IRS Taxes like all of us here in at ExpressTaxFilings, then you deserve a few moments to set it all aside and take a break.

Expand Your Mind
Starring at tax forms all day and running calculations can be a bit mundane. When your mind gets bored, mistakes can increase in your work. Take a few minutes to get away from the computer or paperwork and try meditating, or something that isn’t about work. Drawing, activity books, and even coloring are great ways to get your creative juices flowing. I love to draw and do sketches of what I see in the office or outside, anything to get my mind to focus on something else. It is so much easier to de-stress at the end of the day when you take small breaks to expand your mind.

Stretch Your Body
There is a lot of research on how sitting at a desk all day without moving can lead to a whole heap of health problems. Every hour, or every other hour, it is a great idea to take a few minutes to stand up and stretch. Taking a quick walk is also very beneficial for your circulation when you’re sitting for hours on end. Even incorporating 15 minutes of yoga at work will be highly beneficial to stretch out and clear your mind.

Create A New Game
You are never too old for games. When you need a break from all the tax forms, engage your mind by creating a new game using what you have around you. This is a great way to build relationships with co-workers and to test your creativity. Just recently, one of the members from the ExpressTaxFilings crew drove by some people playing Quidditch (that game from Harry Potter) on a soccer field and created a version we could play in the office. It’s great fun and helps us feel re-energized to take on the second half of the day.

These are only a few ways you can take a tax break and feel refreshed and focused. The ExpressTaxFilings crew is always looking for new ways to expand our minds and keep our fitness game on point. How do you take a tax break from the everyday to sharpen your mind and strengthen your health?
