Year-end E-filing Requirements for Arkansas

Does the W-2 need to be filed with Arkansas?

Yes, the state of Arkansas does require the filing of Form W-2. This form must be submitted to Arkansas by January 31, this year because this falls on a weekend, the deadline is February 1, 2021. Remember, regardless of whether you are paper filing or filing electronically, you must adhere to this deadline. 

Is there a reconciliation form for the state of Arkansas?

The answer to this question is also yes, there is a reconciliation form that is required by the state. 

If you choose to paper file your forms, you are required to attach the ARW-3 to your W-2 before filing it with the state. This is a transmittal form and therefore it is only required when paper filing forms.The ARW-3 is not required if you are filing your W-2s electronically. 

As for the state reconciliation form, this is the Form AR3MAR. This form must be filed with the state of Arkansas by February 28, 2021. 

Do you need to file 1099s with the state of Arkansas? 

The state of Arkansas requires direct state filing of the Forms when there is state withholding to report. The following 1099’s must be filed with the state of Arkansas.
